The 2010 world half marathon champion Wilson Kiprop produced a gun to tape display to win the men’s 10,000m race at the Kenya Prisons Championships at Nyayo Stadium yesterday. Kiprop, representing Prisons headquarters clocked 28:19.2, to win the race ahead of Nyanza’s Charles Cheruiyot (28:20.6) and Coast’s John Mwangangi (28:44.8). Kiprop, a 2012 London Olympics finalist and 2010 Africa champion, started the race on a high, sticking at the front of the pack with Mwangangi and little known Cheruiyot sitting back.
