Kenya’s world 800m record holder, David Rudisha braved chilly conditions to win his speciality at the Adidas Grand Prix in New York on Saturday. Wary of the cold temperatures before the start of therace, Rudisha asked pacer Matt Scherer for a first lap split of around 50.0, which is normally much slower than he would prefer.
