More than 10,000 hawkers who operate in the streets of Eldoret town will be evicted this week. Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago said over the weekend that his government was ready to relocate the hawkers to areas where they will operate permanently. A leader of the hawkers John Kamaru said they had received reports that the county government would forcefully remove them from the town this week. "We have been informed of the planned evictions and we are waiting for them to come so that we know the way forward,"said Kamaru.
