Narok man in ivory case remanded

A man arrested with two elephant tusks worth Sh2.4 million was yesterday charged in a Kilgoris court. Joshua Keyua denied having the tusks that weigh 12kgs at Olomismis near Kilgoris town on December 17. Keyua was arrested by a combined contingent of Kenya Police and Kenya Wildlife Service officers who were acting on a tip off from members of the public. He was remanded by Kilgoris resident magistrate Amos Mokoross after he failed to raise the Sh3 million bond imposed on him. The case, which will be mentioned on December 28, will be heard on January 24.
