THE government has banned the importation of genetically modified foods until adequate research is done to determine their safety. Government regulators and agencies involved in overseeing the importation of food products have with immediate effect been ordered to comply with the directive and beef up security on the port and along border points to prevent any entry of the GMOs into the local market.
