Thika Town MP Alice Wambui Ng’ang’a has differed with her Kiharu counterpart Irungu Kangata over his intention to bring a bill in Parliament to abolish the Senate. Ng’ang’a says she will oppose the bill once it is brought to the floor of the House . Speaking to the Star in a Thika hotel, Ng’ang’a said the move is ill advised since Kenyans who overwhelmingly voted during the referendum are the ones who created the devolved system of government. Ng’ang’a said it is premature to criticise the Sen- ate after being in office for two months and called on tolerance over the issue.
