A committee of the National Assembly has faulted the Ministry of Agriculture for failing to allocate funds for the importation of fertiliser in its 2013-14 budget estimates. The committee termed the move as insensitive to the needs of farmers in the country. The Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries committee chairman Ayub Savula said it is unwise for the ministry not to budget for importation of fertiliser.
