Vetting reporters will intimidate media

THE Clerk of the National Assembly Justin Bundi yesterday evicted the media from their centre at Parliament saying that MPs needed more space for committee rooms. The media centre was established in 2009 by the Kenyan government with financial support from the United States. What was even more unfortunate was that the Clerk said that coverage of the National Assembly would now be by invitation only. The press gallery will no longer be automatically open to journalists.
