Mt. Elgon District Education Officer (DEO) Pius Ng'oma has said high-dropout rates and poor academic performance among the boy-child has been recorded in the schools. "Our Survey has revealed that about 40 of boys drop out annually, and boys hardly attend classes but prefer to go to the forest to farm, hunt and graze at the expense of their studies,” said Ng'oma.
