SAFARICOM has been sued for infringing on intellectual property rights on an electronic medical prescription innovation. Dr Dedan Maina Warui claims he came up with the service which he called ‘Med Dispenser’ in 2010 to help patients access doctors via phones but Safaricom stole his idea. Warui said he approached Safaricom seeking partnership. He said he met with the company's employees, Paul Mugambi, Grace Wanyoike and Edward Kiiru, to discuss the innovation works.
