Anxiety has gripped more than 1,000 squatters in Naivasha over a plan to evict them from a prime land they have occupied for 60 years. The squatters living on the land in Manera village have accussed some traders, a farmer and the provincial administration of being behind the plan. They claim the people are eyeing the land, given to their grandparents by Lord Delamere's family in 1952, due to its value and location.
