Home Affairs assistant minister Beatrice Kones has dumped Prime Minister Raila Odinga's ODM for Eldoret North MP William Ruto’s URP. Kones has been the only female MP from Kipsigis community who has been supporting the Prime minister. Joice Laboso, the Sotik MP ditched ODM for URP a few months ago. Kones's defection leaves Roads minister Franklin Bett and Energy assistant minister Magerer Langat as the only MPs from the South Rift supporting the Prime Minister.
