Treasury could raise counties cash allocation

The National Treasury will consider increasing the allocation to county governments in the next budget, the Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich said yesterday. He however said this will be on condition that the devolved governments take up more functions as opposed to the current trend of luxurious spending. In the 2013/2014 budget, the counties were allocated 34 per cent of the total budget amounting to Sh210billion.
