A SECTION of Kisumu county askaris have said they do not have uniforms which is hampering their jobs. They said they cannot enforce the by-laws as due to resistance from the public Speaking to the Star on condition of anonymity, the officers criticised the county government for not addressing their plight. “We do not have uniforms. The ones we have are too old to be put on,” one askari said. The askaris have in the past engaged boda boda operators who enter Kisumu Central Business District in running battles.
