A judge has raised concerns over rising cases of sexual violence against children in Meru county. Meru resident magistrate Jesse Lessit said sexual abuse among the youth is rampant and need to be addressed. In a statement read on her behalf by magistrate EW Wambugu at a dinner party at Three Steers Hotel in Meru town yesterday, Lessit said the local mechanisms put in place have not been adequate in fighting child abuse and called for long lasting solutions to be established. The party was organised by Ripples International.
