Fourteen people died in two separate accidents just an hour after Kenyans rung in the New Year. Eleven of the 14 died at Migai near Salgaa along the Nakuru Eldoret highway when a truck, a bus and a 14-seater matatu collided at 1 am. Hundreds of motorists traveling back to the city after the holidays were held up for several hours as the police attempted to remove the accident vehicles from the scene.
