A 28 year-old mother was yesterday charged with possessing marijuana valued at over Sh40,000. Lucy Murugi was charged before a Makadara court as she held on to her one-year-old baby. She was arrested on January 2 at Gikomba market as she wrapped the bhang into cigarette rolls. She pleaded guilty to the charge but defended herself saying it was her means of livelihood. She told the court her arrest was unfortunate as she was trapped by a man who had assigned her to wrap up the rolls for sale.Murugi told court the man betrayed her after she failed to comply to personal interests...
