16 companies return laptop tender bids

SIXTEEN computer manufacturing companies yesterday returned their tender bids for the supply of 1.28 million laptops for primary school children. The 16 are among the 69 firms that had bought the bid documents in a tender that was re-advertised on November 1. “The 16 companies will now be evaluated by a technical committee where the lowest bidder will be awarded the contract to deliver the laptops to government,” an official from the procurement ministry who attended the tender opening exercise at Jogoo House said.
