The Turkana county government has put mechanisms to stamp out hunger in the area. More than 300 residents of the county are facing starvation due to lack of food and water. Governor Josephat Nanok yesterday said they have set aside Sh190 million of the budget for relief food. “My government is repairing broken-down water pumps and erecting new ones. My officers are also ferrying water to villages. I urge the national government to also help in addressing this crisis,” he said.
