94 per cent children got polio jab in Kitui – official

Kitui medical services director Mureithi Miano has said the polio vaccine was administered to 94.4 per cent of children in the county. Speaking to the press in his office in Kitui yesterday, Miano said they almost met their 99 per cent immunisation target despite resistance from members of the Kavonokya sect. "Some households were so difficult for us to penetrate as some people armed themselves with crude weapons.
