Locals’ land rows flare up

Disputes in various parts of Mombasa have emerged over the title deeds issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta in August. County Lands executive Francis Thoya said some of the residents, who received the title deeds, had already sold their lands and others do not know where their parcels are. Speaking in Mombasa yesterday, he said some of the land owners sold off their lands using the allotment letters. “There is a problem in Mombasa because some of the land owners are different from the title holders,” Thoya said.
