City properties up for sale over unpaid rates

Three prime properties in Nairobi county will be auctioned to recover Sh512 million in unpaid land rates. This happens as the Nairobi county Government's offer of waiver of interest on land rates ends this week. The hammer is set to fall on LR209/120/79 in Thome estate owned by M/s Kings Project Limited, LR Block110/442 owned by M/s J. M Okea on Ngong Road and another in Embakasi owned by M/s Habiba Abdul Herman Hawa. The county government aims to recover more close to Sh10 billion in outstanding rates.
