A middle-aged woman was shot dead when raiders ambushed a bus at Kambi Karaya village near Turkwel-Kainuku junction. Four other passengers were injured during the attack on the bus which was travelling from Kitale to Lodwar town. Central Pokot OCPD Nicholas Musilu said the bus was among vehicles being escorted under tight security to Lodwar town. He said the raiders waited for the escort team to pass before spraying the bus few metres behind the escort team. “The deceased was shot in the stomach and died on the spot,” Musilu said.
