Private equity fund Actis has signed up Nakumatt Holdings to take up space as the anchor tenant at its planned Garden City mall on Thika Road. This becomes the second retail chain to express interest on the upcoming development, which when completed will see the number of supermarkets on Thika Road rise with the likes of Uchumi already present. South African retailer Game, in which US-based giant stores Wal-Mart has a stake, was the first major tenant to book space at Garden City.
