Political parties plan to amend funding law

POLITICAL parties have have inched closer to a deal that will see the law amended to allow them easy access to state funding. The parties have agreed that the law should be amended to lessen the rules under which a party qualifies to get state funding. On Saturday, representatives of the 59 registered political parties held a secret meeting in Naivasha to deliberate on the deal. In attendance were officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and the Registrar of Political parties’ office.
