Former PS in the Ministry of Public works John Lonyangapuo has asked the government to beef up security in the country before embarking on the disarmament programme. He said pastoralists living on the porous Kenyan borders are exposed to external attacks by their neighbours. Lonyangapuo said pastoralists are willing to surrender the guns, but they first want the government to deploy enough police officers along the boarders.
