The Kenya Red Cross has started income generating activities to supplement donors funds, the MPs were yesterday told. However, the Minister for Special Programmes Esther Murugi told Parliament that KRC's involvement in profit-making ventures does not alter its position as a non-profit entity. Murugi said profits from the KRC investment will only be used for humanitarian work. “KRC is not alone in starting such income generating activities. Various charities, churches and philanthropic organizations are doing the same in Kenya,” she said...
