The Kenya Wildlife Services has raised the red flag following heightened poaching of elephants in the parks. According to the KWS assistant director Wilson Korir, the elephant population is in danger of being wiped. This follows a change of tack by gangs involved in poaching. Korir said the recent poaching trends witnessed in Tsavo National Parks, where elephant families have become an easy targeted by poachers is worrying. "Its worrying because elephant families have become an easy prey to poachers who are armed with sophisticated weapons," said Korir.
