The High Court has given the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission two days to file affidavits on a case concerning registration of prisoners as voters to participate in the March 4 polls. A non governmental organization had sued the IEBC in December last year over the voter registration deadline after it had declined to extend the exercise to accommodate prisoners. Kituo Cha Sheria wanted the courts to compel the IEBC to extend the December 18th registration deadline so as to allow prisoners to register and vote in the March 4, 2013 general election...
