GOVERNMENT chief whip Jakoyo Midiwo has endorsed Lands minister James Orengo’s rival in the 2007 elections for the Ugenya parliamentary seat. Speaking at a rally in Siaya town on Sunday, Midiwo said Steve Mwanga is the best-suited to succeed Orengo. “Mwanga gave us sleepless nights in 2007. With Orengo running for senator, the people of Ugenya should consider him for the Parliamentary seat because he is up to the task,” he said. Mwanga said he would not have played an active role as Orengo during the disputed 2007 elections.
