A last-ditch attempt by a woman accused of murdering her husband to attend his funeral failed yesterday after a judge rejected her plea. Lucy Njeri Waweru ,76, made an application minutes before her husband’s funeral mass started. Her application was however dismissed by High Court judge Florence Mushemi who said it was in the accused's own security not to attend the burial. Njeri and her three daughters were yesterday charged with the murder of Francis Waweru Mutua.
