Mathew Omondi of Vet Lab took an early lead as Sigona Bowl started off the 2013 Golfer of the Year series at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club over the weekend. Omondi shot 8 over par 224 to tie with William Odera but he was back on top of things after beating the latter to the play-off. John Ndichu carded 12 over par 228 to finish third. Ndichu shot level par in the opening round but played 5 and 7 over in subsequent rounds.
