More than 4,200 children are still out of school due to insecurity in parts of Turkana, Pokot and Baringo counties. The chair of the parents association in Pokot, Joseph Lodima, said 16 schools in the three counties have not reopened because they are located in areas affected by banditry. Lodima asked the government to intervene by restoring peace in the three counties. Most of the children, especially in Baringo, have been displaced with their parents.
