A stray hippopotamus killed two people and injured one in separate incidents in Marigat subcounty. Marigat police boss Otulia Kaunya has said the deceased, 52-year-old Joseph Mbugua, was on his way from Kiserian centre, which borders Lake Baringo, when the hippo emerged from a bush and attacked him on Saturday. He said residents who heard him scream came to Mbugua's rescue but he died while being taken to a hospital. The police boss said 63-year-old Sirma Seey was also attacked by the hippo on Sunday.
