KILIFI Senator Stewart Madzayo was yesterday elected to chair the House Committee on Labour and Social Welfare. Madzayo, who belongs Cord alliance, garnered five against three votes of Jubilee’s Laikipia Senator GG Kariuki during the election conducted by the Clerk of the Senate Jeremiah Nyegenye. Madzayo easily won the seat even though the numbers were not in his favour. By the time the clerk called for vote, Jubilee had five senators while Cord had only three as Wajir’s Abdirahman Hassan was absent.
