The fate of Transport minister Amos Kimunya hangs in the balance after the returning officer in Kipipiri disowned the released results. Isaac Irungu told the press yesterday that he did not declare Kimunya the winner in the hotly contested nominations. He said he was shocked to hear from the press that Kimunya had won yet the tallying of the results was stopped midway. Kung'u said they had counted votes from 65 of the 67 polling stations in the constituency when the tallying was stopped, at which time the difference between Kimunya and Samuel Gichigi was 200 votes.
