A woman accused of throwing her one-year-old baby in a well to please a suitor appeared before the High Court in Nakuru yesterday. Beth Njoki is facing charges of killing her son Benson Njuguna on April 1, at Muthengi village in Kuresoi. She appeared before judge Anyara Emukule. Njoki was not required to plead to the charges as she is yet to undergo a mental examination, a requirement before one is tried for murder. Neighbours allegedly noticed Njuguna’s disappearance days after Njoki moved in with her new husband. She will appear before the court on April 30 to plead to the charges.
