County gets ready for floods

Migori A flood assessment exercise has begun. The county is currently experiencing heavy rains. The exercise will assess the state of rescue centres, food supply and permanent solution to floods. The disaster management docket, Kenya Red Cross Society and other agencies launched the programme at Oria in Uriri subcounty on Wednesday. Disaster Management executive Tom Misenya said they want to improve basic facilities in evacuation centres as the situation worsens during floods.
