ODM criticises plan for fresh registration

THREE ODM MPs have dismissed the government’s plan to spend Sh8 billion to register Kenyans afresh terming it wastage of public resources. In a statement yesterday in Nairobi, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi, Taita Taveta women’s representative Joyce Lay and her Busia counterpart Florence Mutua said the government should tame corruption, which has “contributed to the current insecurity”. “It has been widely reported that the main reason for the issuance of fake identification documents is corruption.”
