After years of invisibility occasioned by lack of activity, Kenyan sports journalists have taken a major step forward by reviving the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya. The SJAK held elections at the Nyayo National Stadium yesterday under the supervision of James Akama of the Kenya National Sports Council and observed by among others Francis K Paul, the secretary general of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya. Coming in as chairman with a landslide win was The Star’s deputy sportts editor Chris Mbaisi who saw off the challenge of People Daily’s James Waindi by a 45-17 vote margin...
