Learning in public schools is under threat of disruption after KNUT chairman Wilson Sossion yesterday issued an ultimatum for the Education ministry to settle teachers arrears or risk the teachers going to strike. Sossion said that it is wrong for the government to delay with the Ksh25 billion in house, commuter and medical allowance owed to the teachers. The government last year agreed to pay teachers a salary increment of 300 per cent and backdated to an agreement in 1997 as part of a return to work formula.
