Several prisons officials have been reshuffled following the controversial release of seven prisoners serving life or lengthy sentences. Kamiti Maximum Security Prison warden Joshua Yuma Maweu under whose watch most of the prisoners were released last month has been redeployed to the Kenya Prison Service headquarters. Maweu, who has been in charge of Kamiti for four years, has been replaced by Wilson Okomba from Bungoma prison.
