The government has granted all required licenses for the construction of the Sh12 Billion Pokot Cement Factory. Speaking to the press yesterday, contractor Cemtech Sanghi Group director Rajesh Rawal said it has taken more than two years for the company to be granted the licenses. He said the company is now ready to begin the project which is scheduled to be completed by end of 2014 or early 2015."What we will set up is factory that has capacity to produce more than 1.2 million tons of cement per annum for at least 50 years", he said. The factory is set to sit on 650 acres of land.
