THE Supreme Court has succumbed to pressure and quashed a contentious clause in the draft presidential election rules which would have allowed petitions to start this week. Judiciary sources said the court may have given in to protests by the Law Society of Kenya members who protested that pre-election petitions contained in the first draft were unconstitutional.
