The Kiambu county government has signed a memorandum of understanding with a private company, Aggreco International, and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology to establishing an aquaponic programme. Aquaponics is a system of food production that combines raising aquatic animals, such as fish, and cultivating plants in water.
