A 21-year-old man sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling a minor has been awarded a three-year probation after the ruling was reviewed. Eric Musyoka committed the crime at the age of 17 on March 19, 2010 in the Complex area, Malindi township. Lady Justice Christine Meoli said the life sentence is illegal as Musyoka was a minor at the time of the offence. Meoli said the trial judge at the lower court should have considered the relevant age.
