IEBC has cleared 25 candidates to run for county representatives in Lurambi and Ikolomani constituencies. Kakamega IEBC co-ordinator Gideon Balang’ said 12 candidates had been cleared by midday yesterday. Balang said he hopes to clear 40 candidates who collected nomination forms from his office. "We have had no issues with the candidates so far," said Balang'. The Ikolomani co-ordinator Benjamin Tarus said he had cleared 13 candidates for county representative seats. He said he hopes to clear 30 county representative candidates by the end of Friday.
