Muslim clerics at the Coast have supported Education minister Mutula Kilonzo’s remarks that students should proceed to secondary school regardless of their KCPE performance. “We are grateful to Mutula. He must ensure parent are not forced to pay extra money when admitting their children," said Sheikh Mohamed Khalifa yesterday. Council of Imams and Preachers of Kenya warned headteachers not take advantage of the minister's remarks to extort money from parents.
