Kamukunji to extend deadline

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi will chair an informal sitting of MPs today to broker a deal on extending the deadline for passing constitutional bills that have the August 27 deadline. The Kamukunji is meant to rally enough numbers to raise the two- thirds threshold required to alter the changes to Schedule Five of the constitution, on the timelines to pass the required legislation. The executive has sought an extension for the Fair Administrative Action Bill, Public Audit Bill and Procurement of Asset Disposal Bill.
