A middle-aged woman was yesterday charged at a Kibera court for handling an elephant tusk. Kenya Wildlife Service rangers allegedly found Irene Njeru Wangari with an elephant tusk at at Githembe in Kariobangi Estate on January 30 at around 11pm. The 1.85 kilogramme piece of ivory has a street value of Sh185,000 The woman was charged with two more counts for dealing with government trophy without a dealers license and failing to report finding the tusk. She denied the charges and asked the court to release her on a reasonable cash bail because she is her children's sole breadwinner...
